This blue Rupes coarse polishing pad with hard foam has a high paint correction, allowing you to remove deep scratches and dullness, weathered paint and other paint imperfections. The open cell structure helps to release heat quickly so that the pad is less likely to overheat.

Polishing pads have a hole in the middle primarily to reduce heat buildup, which prevents the pad from burning, melting, or tearing at the center during, especially with high-speed, long-throw, or Dual Action (DA) polishers. The hole aids in ventilation, improves pad centering, reduces foam surface area, and prevents polishing compound from accumulating in the center.
